Songs of Turkey is the “Songs of Turkey” concert series DVD that Sezen Aksu organized within the scope of the “European Movement” in 2002 at the İzmir Efes Antique Theater, Antalya Aspendos Open Air Theater, İstanbul Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater and Brussels, Belgium's Palace of Fine Arts. The Turkey Songs DVD also includes Turkish and English translations of the lyrics in each language. In the concert series, in which Sezen Aksu sings songs in Turkish, Armenian, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic and Kurdish with a choir of 174 people, Aksu is accompanied by the İzmir State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Oniro Greek Music Group, Los Paşaros Sephardic Jewish Music Group, Enderun Classical Turkish Music Group, Feriköy Vartanants Armenian Choir and Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Children's Choir. Sezen Aksu expressed her feelings about the concerts, which aim to present the common culture of Turkey, with the following words: “We have been living together for centuries. We wanted all the voices rising from these extraordinary lands to come together and sing together. Because this is our reality. Because everyone must exist… When so many people sing with one voice, they naturally come together in a common feeling and culture. This is not a harmony that can be forced or planned. It was a miracle to bring so many people together in such a short time without any problems. I understood once again that the universe has a flawless plan and it is not possible to interfere with it.
