Eighth episode, eighth standard. NR-08 - BUILDINGS. Published by ordinance 3,214/1978, this regulatory standard has undergone only three changes (I say “only” because it is one of the least modified standards to date). It was revised in 1983, 2001 and 2011. Opening NR-08 on the ENIT website, we will come across a standard that has fourteen items distributed across two pages, one of the smallest NRs we currently have. It establishes minimum requirements that must be adopted in buildings, with the objective of guaranteeing the safety and comfort of workers. What the standard says In general, the standard deals with relatively simple matters, such as the height of the ceiling (and here it does not establish guidelines directly, but advocates compliance with municipal legislation). It also provides guidance on the situation of floors and walls and their respective protections; provides guidance on stairs, ramps and corridors in work environments and on floors above ground, which require adequate protection against falls. It also provides guidance in item 8.4 (and other subitems) on protection against the elements, addressing the external parts of buildings, requiring compliance with technical standards relating to fire, thermal insulation, acoustic conditioning, structural resistance and impermeability. All in order to obtain dignified and healthy conditions for workers. Finally, NR-08 is a standard that could easily have its content within NR-18 and NR-24, for example, and in some points it even uses the term “comfort”, the same one used in the title of NR-24. However, we are still on episode 08 of our web series and we will return to talk about buildings and comfort in episodes 18 and 24. In the meantime, I will be preparing the next text in our web series #SextouComNR A big hug to everyone and SEX TOU! #NR08 #SextoucomNR #NR
