Welcome to a new episode of our #SextouComNR web series. Every Friday we will cover one of our Regulatory Standards, in ascending order so as not to become a mess. Of course, you will be able to access our content any day, any time, but you should know that every Friday we will have a new, fresh episode about one of our NRs. This is our third episode, so we will cover our third standard, known as NR-3, which legislates on “EMBARGO OR INTERDICTION”. Before we get into the technical aspects of the standard, let's analyze some definitions of terms used, as it will be fundamentally important to know their meanings. Serious and imminent risk: any work condition or situation that can cause an accident or illness with serious injury to the worker. Embargo: total or partial shutdown of a work. Interdiction: total or partial shutdown of activities, machines, equipment, service sector or establishment. Therefore, embargo and interdiction are emergency measures adopted when a certain situation is found in the workplace (a situation of serious and imminent risk). They are not punitive measures, but rather preventive measures, precisely to prevent workers from being exposed to risks considered serious and imminent.
