This Sunday, Boa Sorte Viajante visited the state of Minas Gerais to learn the secrets of the production of the famous Canastra Cheese. To do so, we explored the rural area of the municipality of São Roque de Minas, located near the Serra da Canastra National Park. But what about you? Have you had the pleasure of tasting the delicious cheeses of Minas? If not, don't miss this opportunity. I'm sure you'll be surprised by these delicacies. Among the many producers in São Roque de Minas, in this episode you'll get to know three farms that produce artisanal Canastra Cheese, whose tradition spans more than two centuries and has been considered a Brazilian intangible cultural heritage since 2008. And our first stop was at Sítio Talismã, just 5 km from the city center and home to Seu Antônio and Dona Cida, who are always open to welcome visitors and offer a hearty tasting of cheeses and sweets. Our second destination is Fazenda Capela Velha, run by brothers Guilherme and Alexandre, who, as children, learned to make traditional cheese from their grandfather Chico Heitor, a master cheesemaker in the region and a great source of inspiration and fond memories. The excellence of Capela Velha cheese can be seen in the awards the brand has won in recent years, including silver and bronze medals at the World Cheese Competition held in France. Fazenda Jacob is located just 3 km from the city of São Roque de Minas, and is where Vivaldo and Dhaniela live, as well as their children, Leandro and Bruna, who have been learning from an early age to preserve the tradition passed down from generation to generation. Vivaldo explains that cheese production begins with the milking of dairy cows, which requires great care, since the quality of the milk directly impacts the preparation of the cheese, as do the nutrients in the soil and water. #QueijoCanastra #Canastra #SerraDaCanastra ===================== Watch the first episode in the city of São Roque de Minas e Medeiros, Minas Gerais, and get to know the sources of the São Francisco River by clicking on the following link: EP. 01 - THE TRUE source of the SÃO FRANCISCO! - • SÃO FRANCISCO RIVER: What is the TRUE... ===================== WHO IS MATHEUS BOA SORTE? I am passionate about the cultural traditions of the Brazilian Northeast. To be more specific, of the sertão, which I defend as being much more than a corner of Brazil that receives little rain. For me, sertão is a feeling, a state of mind, of someone who carries within themselves the Smile, the Faith, the Persistence, the Courage and a little bit of mischief. I am an advertiser by academic training, and I pay my bills through art. I am a singer, composer, writer, speaker, educator, actor, TV presenter, radio broadcaster... A lot of things, right? But I summarize all this in just one job: I AM A STORYTELLER.
