Sermon for Tuesday from the book of Genesis iii [13] 1-18, on 29/10/2024, speaker Thymios Triantafillou ----------------------- -------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: Genesis 3 [13] 1-18 1) And Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with of this, towards the meridian. 2) And Abram was very rich in cattle, silver and gold. 3) And he went down the road from the meridian to Bethel to the place where his tent was before between Bethel and Ai; 4) to the place of the altar, which he had made there at first; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. 5) And Lot still, the companion after Abram, had sheep and goats and tents. 6) And the land did not allow them to dwell together, because their possessions were many, and it was not possible for them to dwell together. 7) And there was a conflict between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle, and the Canaanites and the Perizzites then inhabited the land. 8) And Abram said to Lot, Let it not be, I pray thee, between you and me, and between my shepherds and your shepherds; for we are brothers; 9) is not all the earth before thee? therefore be separated from me; if you are on the left, I am on the right; and if you are on the right, I am on the left. 10) And when Lot raised his eyes, he saw all the surroundings of the Jordan, that it was being watered all before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, as the paradise of the Lord, as the land of Egypt, until it fell to Sigor. 11) And Lot chose for himself all the region around the Jordan; and Lot moved to the east, and they separated from each other. 12) But Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt among the cities of the region, and pitched his tents as far as Sodom. 13) And the people of Sodom were wicked and sinners fiercely before the Lord. 14) And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, Lift up your eyes now, and look from the place where you are, towards the north and the meridian and the east and the west; 15) for all the land that you see, I will give her to you and to your seed forever; 16) and I will make your seed as her sand earth; so that if he is able to number the sand of the earth, he will also number your seed. 17) Arise, traverse the earth in its length and in its breadth, for I will give it to you. 18) And Abram raised his tent, and came and dwelt near the Mambri oaks, which are in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord. --------------------------------------------- Amen
