Tuesday sermon from the book of the Acts of the Apostles v [20] 28-31 & from II Kings v [5] 14-27, on 08/10/2024, speaker Nikos Duroudakis --------- ----------------------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: Acts of the Apostles etc. [20] 28- 31 28) So pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you bishops, to shepherd the church of God, which he acquired through his own blood. 29) For I find this, that after my departure, grievous wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30) and from among you men will rise up speaking perversely, in order to draw away the disciples after them. 31) For this reason, keep vigil, remembering that for three years, night and day, I did not stop with prayers after tears, one after another. --------------------------------------------- 2 Kings 5 [ 5] 14-19 14) Then he went down and immersed himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his body became like the body of a little child, and he was cleansed. 15) And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and he came and stood before him; and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, I am in Israel; whence now receive, I beseech you , a gift rather than your servant. 16) He said, As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I do not want to accept. They didn't force him to accept, but he didn't. 17) And Naaman said, And if not, let thy servant be given, I pray thee, two half a load of this earth, because thy servant will not offer in the hereafter burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but only to the Lord · 18) about this matter may the Lord forgive your servant, that when my lord enters into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he rests on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, while I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may the Lord forgive your servant for this thing 19) And he said to him, Rest in peace. And departed from him for a little while. 20) And Jesse, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my lord has appealed to this Naaman of Syria, so that he may not receive from his hand that which he has brought; but, as the Lord lives, I will run after him of this and I want to receive what in spite of it. 21) And Jesse ran after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he sprang out of the chariot to meet him, and said, How are you? 22) And he said, Good; my lord sent me, saying, Behold, at this hour there came to me from Mount Ephraim, two young men of the sons of the prophets; give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver and two changes clothes. 23) And Naaman said, Take gladly two talents. And he forced him, and he gave the two talents of silver in two bags, after two changes of clothes: and they put these on two of his servants, and they weighed them before him. 24) And when he came to Ophel, they took these from their hands and kept them in the house; and the man dismissed them, and they departed. 25) And he entered and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Where is Jesus? And he said, Your servant has never gone down. 26) And he said to him, Did not my heart go after you, when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? is it time for you to receive silver and to receive garments and olive groves and vineyards and sheep and cattle and male and female slaves? 27) therefore Naaman's leprosy will cling to you and your seed forever. And he went out from before him babbling like a sheep. --------------------------------------------- Amen
