Tuesday Sermon from Mark's Gospel 7 [6] 30-56, on 05/11/2024, speaker Alexis Karagiannis ----------------------- -------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: According to Mark 9 [6] 30-56 30) And the apostles came to Jesus and told him everything, and what they did and what they taught. 31) And he said to them: Come you by yourselves to a desert place and rest a little; for there were many who came and those who came down, and they did not even have time to eat; 32) and they went down to a desert place by ship by themselves. 33) And I saw the multitudes following him, and many recognized him and joined him there on foot from all the cities and arriving before them gathered near him. 34) When Jesus came out, he saw a great crowd and was moved by them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. 35) And because a long time had already passed, his disciples, coming to him, said that the place is a desert and a long time had already passed; 36) he dismissed them to go to the surrounding fields and coma and buy themselves bread; because they have nothing to eat. 37) And he who answered said to them: Give them to eat. And they say to him: Shall we go down and buy two hundred dinars worth of bread and give them to eat? 38) He says to them: How many loaves do you have? come and see. And after I saw, they say: Five, and two fish. 39) And he ordered them all to sit down on the green grass banquets banquets. 40) And they sat down by hundreds and by fifties. 41) And taking the five loaves and the two sheaves, he looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to his disciples to set before them, and he distributed the two sheaves to everyone. 42) And they all ate and were satisfied. 43) And they brought up of the fractions twelve full coffins and of the obsari. 44) And there were up to fifty thousand men who ate the bread. 45) And immediately he forced his disciples to get into the ship and proceed to Bethsaida, until he dismissed the crowd; 46) and having dismissed them, he went down to the mountain to pray. 47) And when it was evening, the ship was in the middle of the sea and he was alone on land. 48) And he saw them being tortured in rowing; for the wind was against them; and about the fourth hour of the night he came to them walking on the sea, and wanted to pass them. 49) And those who saw him walking on the sea thought that he was a ghost and cried out; 50) because they all saw him and were troubled. And immediately he spoke to them and said to them: Be of good cheer, it is I, do not be afraid. 51) And he went up to them in the ship, and the wind ceased; and they were astonished among themselves exceedingly, and marveling. 52) Because they did not unite from the loaves, because their hearts were doomed. 53) And passing through, they came to the land of Gennesaret and settled. 54) And when they got out of the ship, immediately recognizing him, 55) they settled in all those areas and began to go around on the beds the sick, wherever they heard that he was there. 56) And wherever he entered towns or cities or fields, he placed the sick in the marketplaces and begged him to even touch the hem of his garment; and those who touched him were healed. --------------------------------------------- Amen
