Read the description and it will help you improve your understanding of the subject. CONCEPT OF A SERIES CIRCUIT: A series circuit or series connection is the type of connection where there is a single path for the electric current. An opening in the series circuit will interrupt the path of the electric current and everyone (all electrical loads) in that circuit will be turned off. BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRIC CURRENT IN A SERIES CIRCUIT: In a series circuit or connection, the electric current will be the same throughout the circuit. That is, the same value of current will be circulating in all electrical loads. Expanding the reasoning a little further: Imagine resistors (light bulbs connected in series). Every time I put another light bulb in the circuit, the sum of the electrical resistances in the circuit will be greater and the electrical current that flows through it will be lower. To summarize even further and make it easier to understand: the more resistance there is in a series circuit, the lower the total current that flows through this circuit will be. Here we are applying the basic Ohm's law. If you still have doubts, research Ohm's law, which will help you understand. VOLTAGE BEHAVIOR IN A SERIES CIRCUIT: In a series circuit or connection, the electrical voltage will be divided between each load in the circuit. In other words, each electrical load will have a voltage value across it, and the sum of the voltages will be the source voltage. Expanding the reasoning a little further: Imagine resistors (light bulbs connected in series). Every time I add another light bulb to the circuit, the voltage applied to it will be the value of the circuit current multiplied by the resistance of the bulb. In other words, the higher the resistance, the higher the voltage applied to the bulb. Once again, we are applying the basic Ohm's law to illustrate the behavior of the voltages on each load. The more load I add to the circuit, the more divisions of the voltage I will have because each load will have a voltage applied to it. Remember that the sum of the voltages of each load will be the total voltage of the source. POWER BEHAVIOR IN A SERIES CIRCUIT: The power of each bulb will be the result of multiplying the total current of the circuit by the voltage on the bulb. In this case, we can see that the bulb will work with a lower power than its total power and each time I add a bulb (resistance) to the circuit, I will decrease the current and also decrease the power. This decrease in power can be seen through the brightness of the bulb, which will become smaller and smaller. I hope you enjoyed this video and see you next time. ????
