On Friday 8 September, at 9:30, the Archbishop of Milan, Monsignor Mario Delpini, presided over the Pontifical Mass in the Cathedral which, as per tradition, inaugurates the new pastoral year on the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, patron saint of the cathedral. ------------------------------ The Pastoral Proposal "We live on a life received": this is the title of the Pastoral Proposal for the year 2023-2024, a text in which the Archbishop, as he writes in the Introduction, encourages everyone "not to renounce the responsibility of testimony, of proposal, of educational accompaniment on issues concerning affective education, preparation for religious marriage, the acceptance of life, work, peace, the time of old age". As Monsignor Delpini explains in another passage, "my intention is not to propose a doctrinal synthesis on delicate and complex issues. I would rather like to highlight the fundamental principle of living and the starting point for the choices that each person cannot avoid. (…) I believe that living the faith as friendship, following, communion with Jesus is the condition for recognizing that we are living a life received as a gift and constitutes the most necessary antidote for resisting the temptation of radical individualism that, in my opinion, is leading to the suicide of our civilization. (…) We are believers and non-believers together, a thirsty land that calls for the gushing source and a promised land that offers hope to our contemporaries. Therefore, let us learn and try to practice the style of Jesus to travel the paths of restlessness and discouragement, to learn to dialogue, to sow hope». ___________________ ➨ Direct link to the article: https://www.chiesadimilano.it/news/ch... ___________________ Follow ChiesadiMilano on: https://www.chiesadimilano.it/ ➤ Facebook: / chiesadimilano.it ➤ Instagram: / chiesadimilano ➤ Twitter: / chiesadimilano
