On Saturday, June 13, Palmer Park hosted the 15th edition of Sénéfesti, the festival of Senegalese and the African diaspora. The kankourang was one of the attractions of the festival. Accompanied by the Mandingue Solidarité association, the kankourang is a character always dressed in purple foliage. Admired and feared, he is considered a protective genius in the Mandingue community.
