How to choose the gear ratio for a drivetrain for Cross Country racing. We select the leading sprocket and cassette size using the Shimano XT cassette as an example. We select the location of the sprocket at the front to avoid chain distortion PS. The example is given for selecting a sprocket if significant climbs are planned, if they are not planned, the size of the front sprocket increases to the level of the expected climbs at a distance with a cassette with a comfortably close row, to increase the maximum speed
