The direction in which the headlights point is very important for the proper functioning of automotive lighting, so one of the secrets of strong headlights is headlight adjustment. This adjustment consists of directing the main focus of light to a point where its performance will be better, but to do this you need to master some techniques, we will talk in detail about each of them. The first step is to position the car on a flat terrain with a wall in front of it, this wall must be straight and the car's headlights must be exactly the same distance from the wall. Ideally, the car should be 5 meters away from the wall to perform the tests. With the car properly positioned, then start placing the reference marks on the wall, these marks can be painted on the wall or simply 2 pieces of 30cm insulating tape are enough. These marks should be at the same height from the ground as the car's headlights and the distance between the marks should also be the same distance as one headlight from the other. Note that we are marking exactly the position where the headlights are on the car and now we must direct the main point of light to this point. Now it is time to move the main focus of light to the marks on the wall and to do this it is necessary to identify the adjustment points behind the headlight. All headlights have 2 adjustment points, one to raise and lower the light and another to direct the light to the right and left. These points are usually made of plastic with a standard Philips or Allen screw head. Turning these points from one side to the other moves the focus of the headlight. Adjust the headlights with the car on low beam. Note that the light should be similar to a horizontal line slightly more inclined to the left and with a brighter point right in the center. This brighter point in the center should be positioned from the center of the mark downwards on both sides. After that, change the light to the high beam position and note that the focus will be more rounded and will pass slightly above the mark. This means that it is correct. With the adjustment done, it is now time to take a road without lighting to see the performance of the car's lights on its own without external help. I am sure that the result will be excellent.
