Not long ago, I accidentally came across a secret Hong Kong restaurant called “The Moon Cuisine”. It is a small restaurant with only 2 tables, located under a condo on Thonglor Soi 2. Although the restaurant may look small, I must say that his skills are extraordinary. The owner, Chef Pin, trained at a large hotel in Hong Kong before flying back to open his own restaurant in Thailand. As a result, all of the menu items at this restaurant are in the authentic Hong Kong style. The “BBQ Pork” here is my ideal type of BBQ Pork. They use fatty meat, grilled until slightly charred, coated with caramel, sweet and fragrant with honey, and juicy with sauce, just like in Hong Kong. The “Roast Duck” has soft meat with thin and crispy skin, and the aroma of marinated herbs permeates the meat. When you bite into it, the aroma fills your nose. The “Stir-fried Lobster with Ginger Sauce” has bouncy, fluffy and crispy lobster meat, stir-fried with Hong Kong-style sauce with the aroma of ginger and sesame oil, which goes together perfectly. The “Stewed Fresh Fish Maw Noodles” has whole fresh fish maw stewed until soft and chewy. It is eaten with fragrant abalone sauce and thin, chewy noodles. “Spicy Pork Salad” uses boiled Shanghai noodles, minced vegetables and boiled pork, mixed with a sour and spicy dressing. Eating it reminds me of the taste and atmosphere of Scala restaurant 20 years ago. Every dish here, I can tell you, has a real Hong Kong original flavor and aroma. Because in addition to the chef who trained in Hong Kong, every ingredient used is imported from Hong Kong. But what surprised me is that the chef chose to use Thai kitchen tools and equipment, such as the “Seagull” brand. The pan that the chef chose is just as cool as the Chinese iron pan used for stir-frying over high heat on a wok. The “Hard Anodized” pan distributes heat well and is also twice as hard as stainless steel. It can withstand the intense stir-frying of Chinese cuisine just as well as foreign brands. For those who love Hong Kong-style food, I recommend coming here. You won’t be disappointed. But as I said, the whole restaurant only has 2 tables with 12 seats. If you want to come, you should call in advance to avoid disappointment. The location of the restaurant is under the Fifty Fifth Tower condo, near Thonglor Soi 2. —-— The Moon Cuisine (the restaurant is in the Fifty Fifth Tower condo) Open 10:00–19:00 (closed on Sundays) Call 093 124 6687 https://maps.app.goo.gl/TWgGv5UbQrVHU... 0:00 intro 0:49 Opening the show 2:00 Chat with Chef Pin, the owner of the restaurant 6:10 Raiding the kitchen 11:39 A table full of food 19:20 Conclusion
