The Sechsersteig is actually a little-known and little-used Hohe Wand climb, and its core section was first climbed in 1920. In 2014, the Hohe Wand specialist Peperl Schrom had the idea of renovating this climb a bit and incorporating various new variants (you now start at the very bottom in the Milak climbing garden) as well as the so-called Pensionistengrat into the Sechsersteig. The result is a pretty, long and varied climbing route, mainly in the 1st and 2nd difficulty levels, with some walking terrain in between and a very short approach; a good alternative to the other tours in the Sonnenuhr parking area!
