Monastery life is not for late risers. In the Capuchin monastery "Passion of Christ" in Jakobsbad, reveille is shortly after 6 a.m. Before breakfast, the group around director Sister Mirjam meets for Lauds to sing and pray. Aline Baumann spends 24 hours in the monastery and takes in the community and life in the monastery. During the meal, the sisters are silent, and only later in the day does it become visible and audible how funny and humorous things can be inside the venerable building. Life in the monastery is definitely not just for older women. Sister Elisabeth was just 19 years old when she decided to go to the monastery. At the time, her name was still Angela Pustelnik and she traveled from Germany. Even as a child, she felt the desire to take a special path with God. She has now lived in the community for 11 years and gives religious instruction to local school classes. Sister Dorothea is responsible for the monastery shop. The natural and care products as well as the delicacies from the monastery kitchen are very popular. Accordingly, many hours are worked to ensure that the shop runs smoothly.
