I have been dreaming of the Schwalmere on a MTB since last year. I had seen it from the nearby valleys that I was cycling through, a year ago, always by bike. The Bernese Alps are truly fantastic and I am discovering them because a couple of friends, who live nearby, usually invite us to spend time together. We start from Isenfluh, a small mountain village surrounded by greenery. The route is truly exciting, you pass through woods rich in moss and flora and then move on to the highest green pastures until you reach the characteristic Alpine environment above 2000 meters above sea level. The snow, not yet completely melted, frames it as well as the nearby 4 thousand or almost that form the backdrop (Jungfrau, Monch, Eiger... and so on). A truly unique environment that always leaves me speechless. The summit is rather complicated to reach by bike, you have to push and carry a lot, almost for 1500 meters of altitude difference. It's all so beautiful that you don't feel the fatigue, in fact with every step uphill you savor the approach, first of the summit and then of the descent. If you are in the area, well think about it!
