It started with memory problems when he was studying for a history test in high school. Problems with concentration and memory, and then insomnia turned into psychosis. Delusions and hallucinations began... A few years later he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. Later, he developed a paranoid personality disorder, which makes you see conspiracies everywhere and suspect your loved ones of hostile intentions. Living with such diagnoses can be very difficult, it is burdened with great suffering. But Maciej has devoted a lot of time to fighting for normality. Today he works (and even has two jobs!), has friends and a passion - he is an actor in a theater for people after mental crises. And yes, he leads a normal life. But he has to be vigilant all the time, go to therapy and, above all, take medication. And as soon as something starts happening - he doesn't wait and goes to the doctor. Maciej is also one of the Educators of the eFkropka Foundation. The main mission of the Foundation is to prevent the isolation of people after a mental health crisis, counteract their stigmatization and break stereotypes related to mental illnesses. Today, the Foundation is working on opening an innovative clinic where people with an experience of a mental health crisis and their loved ones can seek help free of charge. Such a clinic is unimaginably needed today, when the mental health of Poles is getting worse every year, the health service is overloaded, and more and more people cannot afford to seek help privately...
