"People need to know what is happening in the penitentiary - if you took the video recorders of the officers and everything that is filmed, and showed it on television, you would be very surprised and would not even believe what you see," says Gintaras, who is currently serving his sentence for the crimes committed in the Pravieniškių penitentiary. Lazauskas. G. Lazauskas himself volunteered to talk about life behind bars, because he feels great regret that he "earned" another conviction while serving his sentence in the Marijampolė correctional facility - he allegedly believed the promises of the officers of the criminal intelligence department that he would be transferred to another correctional facility, he and two other convicts agreed to plead guilty to a crime committed by others when he beat and mocked an inmate in a prison. But, according to G. Lazauskas, the officials did not keep their word, and he was not only left in prison in Marijampole, but also extended his prison term by more than a year. Although the convict tried to prove "his truth" in court, no one believed him, even though the victim took his side, admitting that he was not beaten in the prison by the persons who were prosecuted. Moreover, G. Lazauskas claims that then his life was in danger - when he spoke in his complaints about the allegedly falsified case and the officers' relations with the convicts, two other convicts took his side, only one of them was soon poisoned with psychotropic substances under strange circumstances, and the life of another was still saved. However, G. Lazauskas managed to escape from the Marijampolė correctional facility - when the management of the prison changed a few months ago and the deputy director of the Prisons Department, Gintautas Šarauskas, immediately arranged for the convict to be taken to Pravieniške. And then G. Lazauskas decided to speak publicly about what he saw behind the closed walls of the Marijampolė correctional facility - he expressed his opinion not only about the officers working there, but also told about Saulius Velečkas, the leader of the "Agurkinių" criminal association who was imprisoned in this institution a few years ago , nicknamed Agurkas, the subculture of prisoners and even convicts who provide intimate services to prisoners for a pack of cigarettes.
