About :

In this video, Egyptian thinker and writer Sayed Al-Qimni discusses the roots of violence in Islam and the Quran. Al-Qimni draws on his analysis of the Quran and the Sunnah, as well as Islamic history, to identify the reasons that have led to the spread of violence in the Islamic world. Al-Qimni discusses a number of points, including: Extremist interpretations of the Quran that call for violence against Muslims and non-Muslims. The poor political and economic situation in many Islamic countries, which creates an atmosphere of frustration. The use of Islam by authoritarian rulers to justify oppression. Al-Qimni concludes that violence in the Islamic world is a complex problem that cannot be easily solved. However, he believes that it is necessary to understand the roots of this problem in order to find a solution. Sayed Al-Qimni: (March 13, 1947 – February 6, 2022) is a controversial Egyptian thinker, known for his critical writings on Islam and Islamic thought. Al-Qimni was born in the city of Al-Wasta in the Beni Suef Governorate in Egypt, and grew up in a religious environment. He studied philosophy at Ain Shams University. Al-Qumni began his intellectual career in the 1970s and quickly became one of the most controversial Islamic thinkers. Al-Qumni attacked extremist interpretations of the Quran and the Hadith, and called for a rational re-reading of Islamic heritage. Al-Qumni’s ideas angered many conservative Muslims, and he was subjected to death threats. In 2005, he was arrested on charges of contempt of religion, but was later released on bail. Despite the controversy his ideas generated, Al-Qumni was an influential figure in contemporary Islamic thought. His writings contributed to a debate about the future of Islam and Islamic thought. Al-Qumni’s most important works include: The Quran: History and Civilization; Our Absent Beliefs; Islam in the Eyes of the West; The Prophet Muhammad: An Analytical Study; and The Tribe of God. Al-Qumni died in Cairo on February 6, 2022, at the age of 75.
