Our tour today is in SANTOS / SP through the VILA BELMIRO neighborhood. At the SANTOS FUTEBOL CLUBE Stadium, we visited the MEMORIAL DAS CONQUISTAS. Santos is a city in the state of São Paulo. The residents call themselves Santos. The municipality extends over 281.1 km² and had 433,311 inhabitants in the last census. The demographic density is 1,541.7 inhabitants per km² in the municipality’s territory. Neighboring the municipalities of São Vicente, Cubatão and Guarujá, Santos is located 35 km south-east of Mauá. Located 9 meters above sea level, Santos has the following geographic coordinates: Latitude: 23° 57' 42'' South, Longitude: 46° 19' 56'' West. Santos is home to Serra do Mar State Park. With around 8,600 residents, Vila Belmiro is one of the city's best-known neighborhoods as it is the address of the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, the home of Santos Futebol Clube - the team that revealed Pelé to the world. It is located between Senador Pinheiro Machado and Ana Costa avenues and Joaquim Távora and Carvalho de Mendonça streets. Predominantly residential, it has charming houses and townhouses, which even served as the setting for one of the versions of the soap opera Éramos Seis, broadcast on the now extinct TV Tupi. It houses two municipal schools (UME Prof. Emília Maria Reis and UME Olavo Bilac) and two state schools (EE Azevedo Júnior and Primo Ferreira), in addition to private equipment. In healthcare, Beneficência Portuguesa, founded in 1859, is a reference hospital in the city and a historic one in the neighborhood. Just like the famous Coca-Cola factory, one of the first to be set up in the country, which operated on Rua Monsenhor Paula Rodrigues and Rua Paraná, in the 1940s. But Vila Belmiro emerged in the first decade of the 20th century, as Vila Worker. It served as housing for employees of companies located in Vila Mathias and Jabaquara. The current name came in honor of the former mayor Belmiro Ribeiro de Moraes e Silva, who administered the City between 1910 and 1914 and from 1917 to 1920 and was responsible for the subdivision of the area. MEMORIAL OF ACHIEVEMENTS Every day Santos Futebol Clube welcomes football lovers and admirers from different parts of the world. Trophies, pennants, photos and awards tell stories of the Club that scored the most goals in the history of this sport that enchants crowds. On November 17, 2003, the Memorial das Conquistas was inaugurated at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, in the famous Vila Belmiro, and since its foundation, more than 1 million people have visited the space. In 380 m² of pure magic, visitors learn about the history of the Eternal Idols, including some with unique spaces, such as Pelé and Neymar, in addition to watching videos of the team's greatest moments, discovering that Peixão is the owner of incredible feats. For those who don't know the entire history of the Club, the Memorial das Conquistas is the perfect place to see, and relive for those who saw it up close, a team capable of stopping a war, being the home of the greatest athlete of all time, being the biggest factory of stars in the world and learn that in Santos a sport is practiced with dignity and fervor. We really enjoyed this tour and wish everyone great entertainment!!!!
