Today our tour is in SANTOS / SP through the PONTA DA PRAIA neighborhood. We begin our tour on REI PELÉ Avenue with a view of the estuary and enter through CANAL 7, Avenida General San Martin. We walk through the streets of the neighborhood and visit the REBOUÇAS SPORTS AND RECREATION CENTER. Santos is a city in the state of São Paulo. The inhabitants are called Santistas. The municipality extends over 281.1 km² and had 433,311 inhabitants in the last census. The population density is 1,541.7 inhabitants per km² in the territory of the municipality. Neighboring the municipalities of São Vicente, Cubatão and Guarujá, Santos is located 35 km south-east of Mauá. Located at an altitude of 9 meters, Santos has the following geographic coordinates: Latitude: 23° 57' 42'' South, Longitude: 46° 19' 56'' West. Santos is home to the Serra do Mar State Park. The Rebouças Sports and Recreation Center serves approximately 4,500 people per month and receives another 5,000 during events. It offers activities such as stretching, basketball, indoor cycling, cycling, rhythmic dancing, adapted sports, futsal, senior gymnastics, localized gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, water aerobics, karate, Muay Thai, weight training, synchronized swimming, swimming, skating, floor pilates, water polo, taekwondo, tai chi chan, volleyball and yoga. It is located in an area of ​​23,000 m² and has three covered courts, three swimming pools (recreational, biribol and Olympic), a weight room, a jogging track, a playground, a running track, a gymnasium with bleachers, two multipurpose rooms, a martial arts room, an indoor cycling room, a physical assessment room and a room for medical care and adapted sports. The administrative building of the Municipal Department of Sports is also located on the site. Three new covered courts are planned to be designed in the revitalization of the Rebouças Sports and Recreation Center, in Ponta da Praia, Santos. A series of interventions will then be made to the space that serves approximately 3,500 people per month, in various activities. One of the courts will be dedicated to the practice of handball/futsal, which will have bleachers and official dimensions to host national and international competitions, and the other two will be multi-sport courts, to meet the demands of the population of Santos. The next scheduled works are the complete renovation of the jogging track, designed for walking and physical activities. It will be 450 meters long and will have new lighting, making the space more beautiful and safe. To meet the high demand of athletes in two of the most popular sports on the beaches of Santos, the Rebouças CER will also have two courts for beach tennis and two more for footvolley, in the place of the old swimming pool, which is currently unused, with all classes being held in the Adalberto Mariani indoor Olympic pool. The Antonio Guenaga Gymnasium will also be included. A company was hired to revitalize the site. The scope of the project includes demolishing the walls at the back and front of the court, in addition to covering and repainting the court. Also scheduled are the renovation of the entrance roof, maintenance of the ceiling and general hydraulic overhaul of the Antonio Guenaga Gymnasium, general corrective maintenance of the ceilings and back gates, interventions in the changing rooms and bathrooms, as well as changing the lighting in the Olympic pool area.
