Raf Douws, together with Werner Dobbelaere of the VSV, took action when accidents involving speed pedelecs increased at the BASF site in Antwerp. Raf, communications expert at BASF Antwerp, is responsible for safety campaigns within the company and works closely with the prevention service to ensure the safety of thousands of employees and contractors. When the number of accidents involving speed pedelecs increased, he decided to take action. He joined a cross-functional working group on bicycle safety and worked with Werner from the Flemish Road Safety Foundation on an awareness campaign and the launch of bicycle training courses.
