By temporarily distancing themselves from technology - such as smartphones, social media, and other screens - many people hope to regain their focus and regain mental peace. But is this really the ultimate solution to better disconnect? A digital detox can certainly offer benefits. However, according to Katelijn, a detox is not a magic solution. It can be a valuable starting point, but it is not a permanent solution to the challenges of our digital age. After the detox, you will ultimately return to a world where technology has a permanent place in our daily lives. The trick is to find a healthy balance in the way we interact with technology, and learn to use what we can’t always avoid more consciously and with intention. So while a digital detox can be a powerful tool to temporarily escape digital overload, it may not be the holy grail. In this episode, Katelijn explains what she means by this, from a neuropsychological perspective. ------------------------------------------------ With Prebes, we want to inspire all professionals with current/contemporary insights/opinions on Wellbeing at Work.
