We visited the beautiful Saar Valley on our autumn trip in 2022 and were thrilled by the landscape, the sights and the wine. Saarburg is an ideal starting point for exploring the Saar Valley. A visit to the Saar Loop is absolutely essential. For motorhome drivers, we can recommend the Saarburg mobile home park. We felt very comfortable there. The motorhome parking space is superbly equipped and the very friendly operators look after your well-being. In the Saar Valley, we got to know the Van Volxem winery. The new wine shop building is impressive. You should definitely get to know Van Volxem's wonderful wines in a wine tasting. The two-hour wine tasting with chef Roman Niewodniczanski is extremely interesting. You will learn a lot of interesting things about wine growing on the Saar. A wine tasting like this costs 25 euros per person. (As of October 2022) The city of Saarburg is well worth seeing, especially because of the waterfall that rushes 18 meters deep into the lower town in the middle of the old town. We also took a look at the very interesting Kassel-Staadt hermitage. From there you also have a magnificent view of the Saar valley. Not far from there you should definitely visit the treetop path at the Saar loop. The view of the Saar loop is simply beautiful. At the Saar loop, however, you are already in Saarland.
