Superman has had some supposed early screenings and the reaction was not good. But is that true? Let's talk about it! James Gunn will write and direct a story focused on a younger Clark Kent, shortly after leaving Smallville, and in his early days as a reporter in the city of Metropolis. Parallel to the beginning of his professional career, he also takes his first steps as Superman. The film, however, is not an origin story, so we won't see Krypton exploding or the Kents discovering it. David Corenswet (Pearl) plays Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) plays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road) is the villain Lex Luthor. Skyler Gisondo will play Jimmy Olsen, the hero's best friend. Wendell Pierce (The Wire) has been cast to play Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen work. Other DC characters will be in the film. Nathan Fillion plays Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced will be Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi will play Mr. Incredible and Anthony Carrigan is in the role of Metamorpho.
