Less than two months of captivity were a complete horror for the woman. Svitlana was beaten so hard that her spine was injured. Sometimes the captive covered her ears with her hands. So as not to hear the men's screams coming from the torture chamber. Then it seemed that she would not be able to stand it... But the thought of the children, whom her parents took from Mariupol, saved her. Tatyana's worst memories of captivity are the terrible food and water with dead frogs. But despite all the horrors, the woman is proud that the enemies did not break her. She survived torture with a stun gun, beatings, cold, hunger, but she gave herself a promise that she would not cry in front of the enemies. Her tenacity is noticeable even after her release. When her own son burst into tears, Tetyana held on. Her logic is simple – she is alive, so why worry? There is still a lot of work ahead, because we need to free everyone who remained in captivity. And only after that will we be able to breathe a sigh of relief and cry. Exactly a month before the full-scale invasion, Halyna Sapsay found herself on rotation near Mariupol. From the first days, her detachment was at Azovstal. The most terrible months of her life were March, April, May 2022. Bombed shelters and destroyed lives. Existence under round-the-clock air raids. On May 11, a Russian bomb pierced the bunker where the defenders were. And destroyed all the emergency exits. They got out of hell through a ventilation shaft. And then – captivity and abuse: the prisoners were forbidden to lie down or sit in the cell. The exhausted defenders of Mariupol had to spend the whole day on their feet. And only dreams of freedom provided encouragement in captivity. Svyatoslav, Anna Zaitseva's 3-month-old son, was the youngest in the bunker of the Azovstal plant. The family spent two long months in the dungeon together with other civilians. Anya warmed up the baby formula with candles, while Russian planes bombed the shelter, where 75 civilians were being rescued. The bunker almost became a mass grave. During one of the evacuation attempts, a heavy bomb fell on the five-story building above the bomb shelter. The shelter would not have survived the next bomb. We must know the stories of the women of Azovstal and remember the horrors they went through! 🔷Our Facebook - / heartofazovstal 🔷Our TikTok - / heartofazovstal #маріуполь #азовсталь #Серце_Азовсталь
