...Morocco road trip - for the joy of driving... 🇲🇦 🚗 5535km • ⏱9 days of driving • 📆50 year old car • ⛽️623 liters of petrol • 🛢5 liters of oil - 👨👩👧👦100% friendly people • These are the key facts of our road trip to Morocco - this great tour took us via Genoa to Tangier-Fes-Beni Mellal-Marrakech-Casablanca-Málaga-Barcelona and Grenoble back to Eisenach. Vintage cars - what do you actually do with them...? The variants are varied and range from hobby, passion, collecting, tinkering, enthusiasm to investment. Some people absolutely want to own such an old collector's item, have it lovingly restored to its original state and put it in the barn or garage with all the other cars. Occasionally there is a drive on a Sunday, when the sun is shining or something. For someone else it might be purely an investment or actually an option to use it in everyday life. And that was exactly the intention! To actually use the 50-year-old BMW 2002ti according to its original purpose - driving - for the joy of driving...! And best of all, out into the world. Even if it sounds a bit bizarre, with a roadworthy classic car you can actually cover thousands of kilometers without any problem. Of course we forego modern amenities and are rewarded with incredible impressions and a special driving experience for all the effort. Traveling in a classic car means pure slowing down and brings relaxation to driving. A feeling of experiencing something very individual, a little feeling of freedom, independence and flexibility. The idea of the classic car road trip with the beautiful, original polaris silver BMW 2002ti was born. After several routes were drawn up, the decision was made to go on the Eisenach-Genoa-Tangier-Fes-BeniMelalh-Marrakech-Casablanca-Tangier-Eisenach tour. We wanted to travel around 4500 km in 9 days and booked hotel accommodation and ferry trips in advance. A longer test drive at the end of March 2019 and a detailed technical check by our master from the propeller factory with a close look at all the technology followed. The radiator, water pump, cooling water hoses, fuel lines, electrics and the entire mechanics were checked and the source of annoying rattling noises was eliminated. An emergency box was taken along in case of unwanted breakdowns. Equipped with everything that is part of the basic equipment and typical car spare parts. Claws for the wheels and steering for the safety of the car.
