I have to say that my gynecologist had been telling me for a long time that everything was fine. We both did the tests they told us to do, and everything was fine. So what the hell was going on? My age? I'm not that old either... Well. We went to a fertility clinic because my gynaecologist (despite saying she was a fertility expert) didn't give any importance to anything, but I still didn't get pregnant. At the new centre they wanted to repeat some of the tests they had already done: SEMINOGRAM FOLLICLE COUNT CYTOLOGY GENETIC ANALYSIS And so we did. And to these tests they added an analysis, which curiously was the cheapest of all (20 euros) that measured the Antimullerian. What is that? Well, it's a blood test that checks how much fertile life you have left. Women are born with a specific number of eggs and these die in each period since we are born. They don't reproduce. So there comes a time when you run out of eggs and then menopause begins. Well, it's a very simple and non-intrusive test (a blood test) and cheap. And I wonder why the hell they don't do it for all women? This test tells you if you can keep waiting to get pregnant or if on the contrary you have to reconsider having children now or go for the option of freezing eggs. Social security doesn't do it. But it cost me 20 euros privately! It wasn't worth it! Well, this damn analysis is the one that detected that I had a low ovarian reserve. And that was our problem. And it's very important to know what the problem is because then you can find a solution or at least you know what to expect. My anti-Mullerian test came out very very low, which meant that without help I couldn't have children, it was very unlikely. At least I knew what to expect. The news was very hard, it hit me like a bucket of cold water. YOU CAN'T HAVE CHILDREN. Maybe you should consider egg donation. (We'll talk about this in another video if you want). In this video, to conclude, I would recommend that if you don't get pregnant naturally, you look for a specialized center (for real) as soon as possible. So that they can do a fertility study of the couple. Uncertainty makes you not live. Many people cannot afford it financially, so, as soon as you detect that something can't go right, go to Social Security and sign up for "the waiting list." There are communities here in Spain where there is a waiting list of more than 2 years, so the sooner you are there the better. Don't let it pass. The biological clock is ticking and you can't ignore it. But girls, always keep your spirits up! Nowadays there are many alternatives and options.
