Abu Hanifa al-Nu'man is one of the most prominent Islamic jurists and the founder of the Hanafi school of thought. He was born in Kufa, Iraq, in 699 AD (80 AH), and emerged as a scholar of jurisprudence and doctrine. He was known for his independent opinion and interest in ijtihad, as he contributed to the development of Islamic laws through the use of analogy and preference.
