Have you ever wondered why you don't understand when someone speaks to you in English? When learning a language, there are many factors that make it difficult for us to understand when someone is speaking to us. Today we are going to learn one of the most important keys to understanding spoken English. That key is informal contractions, which I like to call colloquial contractions. There are other factors such as idioms, unions of sounds, expressions or contractions. Since they are used all the time when we converse in English and normally when we hear the informal word we usually relate it with something bad, something rude, something that is not right. It is important to mention that contractions do not alter the meanings of the original word, but are a way of reducing it to be more fluent. We normally already know these types of words, however having them in a contraction makes us not understand them. In this lesson I am going to teach you step by step the most common ones, with practical examples from real life that will help you not only learn them, but understand how and when to use them. You will also learn a lot of vocabulary that you can incorporate into your English.
