He died after two days of detention for being drunk and committing violence. The victim's wife, Dumaria Simangunsong, said that Budianto Sitepu left the house in good health on the evening of December 24. She initially intended to visit her husband who had been detained at the Medan Police Headquarters for two days. However, she received news that Budianto was taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital because he was sick. Dumaria's questions about her husband's whereabouts were also not answered by the Bhayangkara hospital officers she met. Even more bitterly, while looking for her husband, Dumaria met a hospital officer who was pushing a body. As if she had a feeling, she saw the face of the body being carried by the morgue officer resembled her husband. Seeing her husband dead, Dumaria was hysterical and felt devastated. Her hands and mouth were bandaged. His face was full of bruises, as were his chest, legs and shoulders. Meanwhile, the police explained that Budianto and his friends were arrested while enjoying alcoholic drinks while playing music at high volume at a stall in Gang Horas, Sei Semayang Village, Sunggal District.
