Ride on the Hanau - Wiesbaden train route The S-Bahns are the most important part of local public rail passenger transport in the Rhine-Main area. Today, modern class 423 multiple units mainly run on the 9 S-Bahn lines operated by DB Regio. In this recording, we travel with the older class 420 multiple units on the S8 from Hanau to Wiesbaden via Frankfurt am Main main station, Frankfurt Airport and Mainz. The class 420 trains were put into service in the early 1970s and first ran on the S-Bahn in Munich. The multiple units were also found on the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn.
