Oostvoorne, August 6, 2009. What should have been a fun day of celebration with a party tent and a cycling race, ended in doctor's treatments and even hospitalizations for visitors. And it wasn't the visitors themselves who made a mess of it. The police had deployed half a platoon of single-striped police to 'keep order'. What followed was indeed that massive village brawl, aggression and threats in which the police were 'in control'. Before you check the repo, listen to the voicemail first. Rutger spoke to at least ten witnesses yesterday afternoon of what in the eyes of the witnesses and victims was an absurdly violent police action. Rutger checked the broken leg, pressed gently on the bruises and went with the victims to the police station to get their story straight.
