When the war in Ukraine started, there were many attempts by Russia to sort of trivialize the whole matter and maintain some kind of connection or even support with the West. One part of it was direct propaganda about the badness of NATO and the European Union, that Ukraine, together with Lithuania and other post-Soviet countries, should have been a springboard to attack the innocent, peaceful Russia. But another front of the information war where Russia was very active was trying to maintain contact with the West through sports and culture. Because Russian culture has nothing to do with this war! On the contrary, Russian culture is an integral part of Western culture! After all, Russia is the last bastion of Western culture!... But is it really? After all, culture is a reflection of a nation. Therefore, it is impossible to separate cultures from what the nation does, as the Russians tried (and still try) to do. But if their culture is so great and peaceful, just the beacon of Europeanness, why do they start such inhumane wars and carry out such incomprehensible repressions? Maybe then it's not their real culture, but just the facade they show to foreigners? In this video we will examine this question. We will look at the formation of Russian culture from a historical point of view and what implications it has. How their true culture was formed and manifested. Because, realistically, Tolstoy or Pushkin is not Russian culture. Real Russian culture boils down to despair, violence, pain and death. That culture from which endless wars and non-reckoning with people are born. The culture that is being created in Russia itself, its intellectuals like Dugin are so proud of. Culture, which we in Lithuania are implementing little by little, but still poses both internal and external threats to us.
