Recording date: October 1, 1984. The images are photos of the 455 series train running and the Matsushima Express signboard taken at each station later. The recording was done using a 90-minute tape, with side A being from Sendai (46:50 between Shiroishi and Koshigoe), side B being from (47:05 between Kuwaori and Date) to (1:15:05 between Matsukawa and Adachi). After that, a different tape was used to record the Motomiya to Koriyama sections. The recording equipment was Sanyo MR-V8 and the tape was Sony UCX-S90 chrome tape. It was relatively empty, so I was able to record from Sendai to Ueno normally even in the unreserved seats, but I wanted to ride the old passengers who were still in service at the time, so I only went as far as Koriyama. This is an old tape sound source. Although we have made improvements to the sound quality, such as removing noise, when digitizing, there may be some parts that are difficult to hear. The Shinkansen still only went as far as Omiya, and the 185 series Shinkansen Relay, which was a new model at the time, ran between Omiya and Ueno. It's been a long time since the AC/DC express trains were retired. I hope you enjoy the atmosphere of a non-Shinkansen long-distance train, even if it's just the sound.
