Based on Bappenas research results, every year there are 23-48 million tons of food wasted in Indonesia from 2000-2019. Millions of tons of food waste should be able to support up to 125 million Indonesians. And this time CNN Indonesia correspondent, Rully Kurniawan, will invite you to meet a family that relies on food thrown away from restaurants, cafes or offices to survive. Food waste is the largest contributor to waste in Indonesia. Various efforts have been made to reduce food waste, including sorting and separating leftover food from restaurants or hotels that is still suitable for distribution to those in need.
