◼︎ On November 5, 1776, Jeongjo established Gyujanggak. Gyujanggak was formally a library for the Joseon royal family, but in reality, it was the king's core advisory organization that assisted Jeongjo's reformist politics. Gyujanggak, established in the palace in March of the year of Jeongjo's accession to the throne, managed the handwritings, calligraphy, and paintings of past kings and collected, managed, and compiled domestic and foreign books.
