The Romanovs exercised their power through marriage policy, military force, and dictatorial rigor. The ruling dynasty is surrounded by myths and legends. Great names are associated with them, revered and feared in equal measure. Peter the Great modernized the country and made it a major European power. Catherine the Great, a German, conquered the Russian tsarist throne. Through cunning and cunning, she became the most powerful woman in the world. Under Nicholas II, the Tsarist empire came to an end. In one of the most brutal political murders of the 20th century, the last tsar, his family and his most loyal servants were killed on the night of July 16-17, 1918. Chief investigator Vladimir Solovyov impressively tells how the murder of the century was solved, with all its brutality and many secrets. Xenia Sfiris, the great-granddaughter of the last tsar, witnesses life at the Russian royal court in the past. She recounts her grandparents’ first-hand memories of the Imperial family and the Tsar’s conjurer, Rasputin, who was legendary murdered in her grandparents’ home with the help of her grandfather.
