I'm sharing a recipe for Rosca Mineira, a traditional, delicious and easy-to-make dish with ingredients that everyone has at home. It makes a lot, so you can freeze it and then just take it out of the freezer a few hours before serving it, and it'll be fresh again. The recipe is in the video description, but let me tell you a little story first :-) My family always loved cooking, and back in the 80s and 90s, everyone had a recipe book and if someone made a delicious meal, we would ask for the recipe right away. And that's how these booklets with selected recipes were born, and they were true treasures. Now that I've decided to create this cooking channel, I'm rescuing these old recipes. This notebook belongs to my sister, Cláudia. She made it with great care for a school project in 1988. She went after the recipe book of a grocer, famous in Monte Carmelo for her excellent cooking, and transcribed all the recipes. Imagine the work involved... In Monte Carmelo, and I believe throughout Minas Gerais, we used the expression "to make "quitandas" (make "quitandas"), I don't know if this term is used in other states. Do you say that too? So, "quitandas" were made on the weekend so that we could eat them all week long. There was so much abundance! We kept these rolls in tins that were tightly closed and kept them soft. There was no risk of them getting moldy because they didn't last long. Good memories as I write this text. So, make this recipe and tell me what you think. I'm sure it will go into your recipe book.
