Rookie: Eli and his friends are going to free an island that Blakk's army has invaded. His mercenaries have set up a center for transforming slugs into ghouls in a very well-guarded fortress in the center of the island and are commanded by a Darkbane from the Deep Caverns. A child in a village of resistance fighters gives his ghoul to Eli who names her Rookie. Having never been launched, she doesn't know how to do much, but she ends up discovering her power and how to use it. When Burpy is taken prisoner, it is thanks to Rookie that she will be freed with the other slugs held in the fortress.
