I have been thinking about roof tiles for a long time. I spent even more time looking at the roofs of the surrounding houses and comparing the different appearances. I already knew when planning the house - our house will have a modern, flat, dark-colored roof tile. The Tondach Figaro tiles were among the first tiles I compared and obtained an offer (there is also a Figaro Deluxe option). I liked the shape of the roofs, but the price was less pleasant, which was 2 x higher than what was offered less than a year ago in the flyer of the Jager store (at the time of writing this blog, the old flyers are no longer available on the Internet, apparently my concern about the price increase also had some influence - for those of you who keep old flyers, the catalog was at the time of Martin's 2017). The pricing policy of the Tondach company has definitely dissuaded me from choosing their roof tiles. Although I didn't even know beaver tile very well at the time of getting the offers, among others, Tondach Bobrovec was interesting. Considering the production of the mentioned roof tiles in Slovenia, the roof tiles became attractive to me, but the price itself was the highest among all the offers obtained. Then I saw another Slovenian product, the Golob Prestiž concrete roof tile, which I became very fond of. Despite many opinions that concrete roof tiles are "bad", I have convinced myself that many rumors about higher weight, fading over time and other negative signs of concrete roofing are not true. Concrete roof tiles are distinguished above all by their durability, as they are proven to be more durable in the event of hail (view the article on roofing resistance to hail), opinions were also confirmed by roofers who repaired the consequences of hail. Color fading, which is really present in some concrete roof tiles, today, when besides the basic role of the roof tile, the appearance is often improved by double painting - first the concrete mass itself is painted, and then the dried concrete roof tile. I also flirted with Creaton Domino and Nexe Valens roof tiles, but in the flood of choices I didn't even get to the offer. According to the recommendations, the latter are a very affordable alternative and look similar to the Tondach Figaro roof tile. When in the end, out of curiosity, I asked about roof tiles on the Naša hiška Facebook page, I got a recommendation for Jacobi-Walther clay roof tiles. It didn't take long for me to contact the company Dom Streha, which is the importer of the aforementioned roof tile, to prepare an offer. To my surprise, she called me the very next day. Dragica, who calculated the required amount of roof tiles, advised on color and snow guards, and prepared an offer the same day. In addition to the excellent roof tile, which can be covered without delay, and the vent is built into the ridge (thus eliminating the cost of half-pipes and vents, which is not negligible), I was convinced by the responsiveness and friendly conversation with Mrs. Dragica, who, among other things, invited me to the sales showroom and to see buildings covered with roof tiles, I also saw good opinions on various forums. Before making a final decision, I called our roofer (Srečko Jelen sp) to give me his opinion about the mentioned roof tile and the decision was made. The roofs on our house will be Jacobi-Walther Stylist clay roof tiles, slate engobe color. http://nasahiska.si
