Hello everyone and welcome to this new video! HISTORY OF THE STATION Ostia Antica station is a railway station located on the Rome - Lido railway. This station was opened in August 1924 at the same time as the opening of the aforementioned railway. It has: three tracks, two of which are for passenger service, respectively served by platforms with an underpass, and one for the former freight yard. It also has a two-level passenger building: on the ground floor there is the waiting room and the stationmaster's office while on the first floor there are the staff quarters. Inside the former freight yard there is also one of the electrical substations on the line. THE CURRENT SITUATION Since 2022, the Rome - Lido railway has been managed by ASTRAL and COTRAL, and with it also the Ostia Antica station. The freight yard is currently unused and all trains that travel the line in both directions stop there. In this montage, you can see how the station looks on the morning of July 23, 2024. Enjoy!
