Santo Stefano Rotondo is one of the oldest churches in Rome and the oldest built on a circular plan. It was consecrated by Pope Semplicius between 468 and 482. The church is a rotunda with a rectangular portico with five arches, built with materials from destroyed ancient Roman buildings.
