Meet the Rolls-Royce Spectre! It’s Rolls-Royce’s first foray into the world of electric cars, and Matt is here to find out whether swapping the V12 for electric motors was a smart move. Or was it? Let’s take a look at the exterior first. There’s no denying that this is a very big car, but it’s kept very simple – and we think that’s a good thing, considering it helps to highlight its elegance. From the side, the true size of the car is revealed, and it stretches out to a whopping 5.5 metres in length! The traditional thick centre caps on the alloy wheels are retained, and of course there’s the hand-painted line that runs the width of the car. At the front, there’s a huge grille made entirely of metal, and a set of daytime running lights mounted above the headlights. It looks fantastic! Step inside, and the Spectre is still a Rolls-Royce. With the exception of one paddle on the steering wheel, there are soft-touch, high-quality materials throughout the cabin. This is the first Rolls-Royce to feature fully digital dials, as well as a large screen with an infotainment system borrowed from BMW’s. There are plenty of physical buttons and dials in the cabin, and despite being a three-door car, there’s more than enough space for passengers in the back. The Spectre has a 102 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of up to 330 miles. It’s also powered by two electric motors that give the car a combined 577 horsepower. And this behemoth weighs a whopping 6,000 pounds!! The Spectre retails from £330,000. It may be one of the most luxurious electric cars on the planet, but can it compete with the V12 power of a Phantom or Wraith?! You and Matt won’t know until the end of the video.
