Do you think that to see SACRIFICIAL ALTARS, CAVES inhabited by ancient men, impregnable FORTRESSES and MOUNTAINS split in two you have to go who knows where?⛰️⛰️ Just come to Val Chiarone!!????What I propose to you today is a spectacular circular trek????????in an area that left me speechless. Arriving in Piacenza I followed the road to Pianello Val Tidone and then to Chiarone. Immediately after the bridge over the Chiarone stream you can park your car ???? and follow path 209 which starts right near the Bridge and leads to ROCCA d'OLGISIO. I sincerely thank ♥️ Mr. Bengalli, owner of the fortress, who allowed me to enter the Castle and shoot the videos inside the courtyard area even though it was not a visiting day. ????All the information to visit the Rocca can be found on the website www.roccadolgisio.it ???? Near the Rocca there are two caves in which remains from the Bronze and Iron Ages have been found????. These are the Cave of Liberata and Faustina and the Cave of the Drop????????. In the latter it is said that those condemned to death were tortured by gradually having their skulls smashed by the drop of water???????? A little further on there is a Sacrificial altar☠️☠️. the Trekking proceeds towards Monte San Martino ⛰️made up of a rock split in two through which the path passes, making it one of the most evocative routes I have ever done! The two rocks that compose it are called the Sasso del Merlo because from afar they resemble the beak of a blackbird????‍⬛????‍⬛ You then descend along a rocky path where there are ropes to facilitate the descent. You pass next to the Chapel of the Madonna di Lourdes and going down on an asphalt road you cross the town of Chiarone until you reach the car???????????? This trek is short but challenging and some sections are of type EE for Expert Hikers as they involve passing over rocky ridges. About 8 km with an altitude difference of 450 meters. ????????
