Genre: #advaita_vedanta, #e_duh, #power_of_spirit, #Nikosho Date: November 22, 1990 “People still can’t figure out how to deal with their problems. That’s usually what all the calls come down to. It seems like everyone has problems, be it depression or loneliness or limitations or illness. There is always a problem. People want to know how to solve their problems. There is only one way to solve a problem so that it never comes back, but it does not lie at the level of the problem. You have to go higher, ignore the problem and understand who has it. Think about your problems, if you have any. You say, “I have a problem.” The mistake you make is that you identify with the body and the mind. That is the only problem you have. You still think that you are the body, or the doer, or the mind. That is the only problem you have, there are no others. So if the problem of body-mind identification is solved, all others will also be solved. People cannot conceive of this. Think about it. Whenever you have any problem, do you inquire who has the problem? When you say, “I have a problem,” you mean your body, aren’t you? You are talking about your mind. But if you can catch yourself and say, “Who is this ‘I’ who thinks that I have a problem?” you will realize that I have never had a problem. The body appears to have a problem. But you are not your body. You have nothing to do with your body at all. Try to remember this all the time.”
