Starting today (31), the Rio de Janeiro State Department of Transit (Detran-RJ) will begin issuing the new model of the Identity Card. Now, the document has the CPF as its unique identification number, recognized throughout the national territory. Initially, the new identity card will only be issued to children aged 0 to 11 years old, when requesting the first copy of the document, at any Detran office. Those who do not yet have the CPF issued by the Federal Revenue Service will still receive the old model. The new version has a QR Code that allows you to verify the authenticity of the document and find out if it has been stolen or lost. An international code used in passports, the MRZ, has also been incorporated, which makes it easier to use the identity card as a travel document at Brazilian airports.
