Community of Marreca Velha, Xique Xique, Bahia - What is the most unusual fisherman story you have heard? What's the best fish recipe you've ever eaten or made? How to prepare a surubim moqueca? What is life like in an isolated community on the banks of the São Francisco River? Our destination in this video is Xique-Xique, which has around 48 thousand inhabitants and is located in the interior of Bahia, around 590km from Salvador, the state capital. Here we visit the riverside community of Marreca Velha, on the banks of the São Francisco River. There, in addition to the scenes that make up the daily lives of its residents, we visited Dona Sônia, a skilled cook who prepared us a delicious surubim moqueca, made on the wood stove. For the country people who live there, Velho Chico means survival. Hundreds of families who depend on family farming and fishing are worried because of the drought in the tributary, but they do not lose faith and hope that better days will come. #XiqueXique #Pesca #RioSaoFrancisco ===================== WHO IS MATHEUS BOA LUCK?
