Professors propose reflections on what is behind the precariousness of work. The Vida Além do Trabalho (VAT) movement, led by city councilor Rick Azevedo and supported by congresswoman Erika Hilton, advocates the end of the 6x1 work shift, a work regime that is part of the lives of many Brazilians, which entitles them to only one day of rest after six consecutive days of work. This normalized reality has long been causing physical and mental exhaustion among workers. To bring reflections on this urgent topic, Pauta Pública of the week is pleased to welcome Professor Ricardo Antunes. An expert in labor relations, Antunes analyzes the mechanisms behind the precariousness of work and also the importance of VAT, which has been one of the main left-wing agendas that has appealed to the population for years. Ricardo Antunes is a full professor of Sociology of Labor at IFCH/Unicamp. Author of Uberização, trabalho digital e Indústria 4.0 (org., Boitempo); Capitalismo Pandêmico; (Boitempo, published in Italy and Austria). Privilege of Servitude (Boitempo, published in Italy); The Senses of Work (Boitempo, also published in Argentina, USA, England/Holland, Italy, Portugal and India); Goodbye to Work?
