On this trip, I rode on the JR West Limited Express "Yakumo" from Izumo-shi Station in Shimane Prefecture to Okayama Station in Okayama Prefecture. There is an operating train that starts from Izumo-shi Station and goes to Okayama Station. It was also announced that some trains would be operated with the 381 series (JNR vehicles) as a special service from December 27th through the New Year's holiday, so I rode on the 381 series. The ride takes about three hours and runs through three lines: the JR Sanin Main Line, the Hakubi Line, and the Sanyo Main Line. This New Year's holiday period may be your last chance to ride the 381 series Yakumo.
